" In the Process of Updating Information "
The following are general information available at the Revenue Division of the Penang Land and Mines Office:
- Land tax is charged only once (1) a year.
- Please bring the current land tax bill (if available), or a copy of the land title, along with details regarding your property (district, type of ownership, title number, and lot number) and sufficient payment.
- Landowners are reminded not to pay land tax to anyone other than those entrusted by the government to collect land tax payments.
- For landowners who require a tax payment receipt for transaction purposes, it is advised to pay in cash / bank draft / money order only. This is because payments made by personal/company cheques will only be recognized as valid once the cheque has been cleared by the paying bank through the National Accounting Department’s report.
- Taxpayers must ensure that a receipt is issued after payment is made. This payment receipt should be kept for reference regarding related matters. In the event of loss of the payment receipt, the owner can obtain a certified copy of the land tax receipt at the established fee.
- A late payment penalty will be imposed if payment is made after May 31.
