POVERTY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAMME
INTRODUCTION
Poverty Financial Assistance Programme was implemented since Mac 2009. The main focused is to provide assistance to the head of the family (KIR). Assistance provided is a monthly financial assistance that help to increase KIR monthly income. Poverty Line Income (PLI) is RM770.00 and RM220.00 per capita. The list of PLI and per capita set by the Penang State Government in each years are as follow:

IMPLEMENTATION
Financial assistance as a top up (additional) to KIR monthly income. The minimum payment is RM100 and maximum payment is RM770. KIR eligibility to receive the financial aid are as follow :

3 person | Monthly income less than RM660.00 |
4-5 person | Monthly income less than RM770.00 |
6 person and above | Per capita income less than RM220.00 per person |
Example:
- A family with 1 person and his / her monthly income is RM250.00, he / she will receive RM100 (minimum) from Penang State Government.
- A family with 6 persons and KIR monthly income is RM500, he / she will receive RM770 (maximum) from Penang State government.
All State Departments and Agencies are involved in this program implementation.
Validation and monitoring are done by committees coordinated by the State Economic Planning Unit (UPEN) and the District and Land Offices.

Application are available at District and Land Offices and State Assembly Offices.
